biographies:
Primal Heart is a classic rock band based out of Jackson,
Tennessee.  The band was originally a recording project by Robby
Owens and Steve Pollock  in 1996 however, after the fire to
perform once again set in, the "live" band was born.  In March
1998 the original members came together and the first show was
performed at Davis Kid Booksellers in April.  Since then the band
has evolved and today we continue to keep the music alive!  We
would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us
throughout the years and we hope to see you soon at an upcoming
show!
Robby Owens is a father, a medical professional,
and a man who is very passionate about his music.
Robby began singing at the age of 3 in a small
country church. He sang old time gospel songs and
later began molding his voice with the late great
Elvis Presley. In his early teens, Rock-n-Roll called
to him through the sounds of great bands such as
Journey, Boston, Eagles, Bad Company, etc.
Although all these great bands paved the road to
Robby's current style of singing, Steve Perry of
Journey was definitely the most influential factor.
Robby formed his first band, Premonition, in High
School and later at age 19 fronted another local act
"DeJa'vue". After a brief stint with a band in St.
Petersburg Florida, Robby Re-entered college for
the third time and became a registered nurse. This
career move was based solely on the flexibility of
scheduling which would allow Robby to pursue his
dreams in the Realm of Rock-n-Roll. After college
Robby joined Steve Pollock in the band Rodeo Drive.
After the band disassembled due to conflicting
interests, Robby and Steve formed Primal Heart and
released a CD "Just Once". The next step was to
form a classic rock band that would impress even
the classic artists themselves. Robby gives God all
the credit for his talents and thanks all his friends
and family for the "faith" they have always shown...

Steve Pollock is married with  kids and a very busy
job as a Madison County employee.  He  started
playing guitar in the mid 70's after hearing such
greats as Jimmy Page and Ritchie Blackmore. Allen
Collins & Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd were
also two of his favorites along with Frank Marino of
Mahogany Rush.  Steve has performed with other
area bands in the West Tennessee area off and on
for years. His most notable shows were when the
band Blind Justice of which he was lead guitarist,
opened for  Molly Hatchet & Black Oak Arkansas.
As a member of Rodeo Drive, he opened for
Survivor at a concert in Jackson and with Primal
Heart has fronted The Bellamy Brothers, Blackfoot
and others. In the mid 90's, he and the lead vocalist
for Rodeo Drive, Robby Owens got together and
started writing. After awhile it was evident that a
live show had to be done. By pulling in seasoned
musicians from the area, Primal Heart was
complete! With the mix of original and classic rock,
he is able to express himself with his guitar.

and resides in Jackson.  He is the band's first
keyboardist and after trading out playing time over
the years with Joseph Montgomery (no relation),

sounded better.  He performed with the Paula
Bridges Band for several years before joining
Primal Heart.  He has traveled all over the country
throughout his life and has sit in with many
musicians.  He is classically trained and loves
classic rock.
Chris McCrudden is a husband, father,  music
teacher, music store employee and one heck of a

talent for being able to adapt to any type of music.
Chris has been with Primal Heart for many years
and continues to be a vital part of the backbone to
the beat.  Chris also works as a sound technician
